Rock In Rio is the largest rock festival of the world, this festival takes place in Brazil and Portugal.

the first festibal of Rock In Rio was in January 11- 20 1985, the headliners where QUEEN,GEORGE BENSON,ROD STEWARD, AC/DCand YES.

This bands where singing for 2 nigths each one.

Queen shows were filmed (on January 11 and January 18) and broadcast throughout Brazil by Globo. Each show was watched by nearly 200 million people in over 60 countries. It was later broadcast in the United States on MTV as "Queen: Rock in Rio."

Rock in Rio nació de la mano de Roberto Medina, publicitario brasileño que se propuso dar a conocer al mundo la riqueza musical de su país. Y de paso transmitir la fraternidad y alegría de sus gentes.El resultado: el evento musical más grande de todos los tiempos que, en 2008, trasladará el espectáculo a Madrid.En sus cinco ediciones ha dado tiempo ya a escribir, sin duda, una página independiente de la historia de la música.El 11 de enero de 1985, arrancó la primera cita en Río de Janeiro. Diez días en los que se subieron al escenario 14 estrellas internacionales y 15 nacionales: Queen, AC/DC, Rod Stewart y Iron Maiden, entre otros, compartieron protagonismo con nombres como Barao Vermelho y Kid Abelha. La 'ciudad del Rock' ocupó una superficie de 250.000 metros cuadrados, espacio en el que además de un escenario de 5.000 metros cuadrados, se construyeron un centro comercial de 50 tiendas y dos helipuertos.
